#1: Gather a group of friends (there are 6 luxurious bedrooms and 1 bunkroom) for a prayer retreat and email pray@restinnrivendell.com to reserve the home on dates convenient for your group.
#2: Opt in to the prayer retreat emails and reserve an individual room during announced prayer weeks. For women only.
#3: Opt in to the prayer retreat emails and watch for the 21-day-alerts. We will send out an email when the home is available for individual prayer retreats 21 days in advance.
How to I secure my reservation?
Reservations are secured by a 50% deposit via Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. The balance is due 30 days before arrival. 21-day-alert reservations require full payment at time of booking.
Cancellation policy: Full-refunds are given for cancellations 60 days out. Less than 60 days out, the 50% deposit will be retained unless Rest Inn Rivendell is able to rent out the house (or prayer retreat room) to other guests, in which case the entire amount will be refunded.
Every person coming for prayer retreats will receive a spiritual retreat guide written by Alicia.
For those reserving the home for their group, please feel free to contact Stephanie at stephanie@restinnrivendell.com if you would like to explore the possibility of Alicia coming in to speak/share/teach during your stay.
Nope. For individual prayer room reservations, it's either all men or all women. For example, if prayer dates open up and the first reservation is for a woman, then--for that time period--all the other prayer rooms will only be available for women.
The home sleeps 20 comfortably.
Yes, yes, and yes! So far the only request we've received that wasn't a great match was for a tween boys' baseball team... Rivendell is ideal for groups of all sizes with space to rest, land to roam, and a view to inspire even the weariest of minds.
With the exception of closed bedrooms, yes! In addition to your private room, enjoy walking in the woods, reading by the fireplace, relaxing in the hot tub, gazing at the Gavyn Sky original 7' masterpiece in the living room, watching the sunset on one of the back decks, or awaiting the sunrise on the front porch swing.
With the exception of whole-house rental by groups, for the safety and comfort of other guests, all individuals desiring to reserve rooms during prayer weeks will need to a submit one referral/reference of someone who knows you well AND knows Alicia or someone on her team well. This is a soul familiar with your guts more than your gifts.
All guests will receive a rental agreement, guidelines, and liability release to sign and return to Alicia's office.
During prayer weeks, all rooms are limited to a 1-person occupancy to protect the quiet, prayerful atmosphere of the home with one exception: Restoration-for an additional $35/night fee-may house 2 guests since there are two private living/sleeping spaces.
When a group reserves the entire home, they will receive a list of guidelines.
For individuals reserving a room during women's prayer weeks, all guests will be asked to use their headphones for any electronics to guard the silence of the home for others... fast the house TV and pinball machine... and shout or sing in sign language or outside in the woods.
Over the last 15 years, Barry and I have given each other a monthly gift of a 24-hour prayer retreat. Often I've spent those refreshing hours at a monastery or solitude with a cot, school desk, and kitchen chair - the simplicity helped me focus on God.
So when I started to design and decorate Rest Inn Rivendell, I assumed that it would also be simple and plain. But immediately I felt something different in my heart, something that remained throughout each of the hundreds of hours spent waiting and listening and researching and purchasing pieces for the home from China to the local newspaper and thrift stores to ebay: God wanted to pour out His Kingly love upon His people!
Instead of bare, the walls were to be filled with inspiring art. Instead of plain, each room was to reflect God's creative beauty.
As you walk through and rest within the home, our prayer is that each space will echo God's loving attention to every detail in your life.
The Branson Airport offers fantastic service and affordable rates for those flying in. Check out their website at http://www.flybranson.com for a complete list of airlines.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is available at the airport as well.
The kitchen is fully-stocked with everything from pans to dishes, two stoves to an outdoor grill, and spices to a fondue pot. Guests will share the refrigerator and cook their meals at their leisure. A wonderful grocery store, SunFest, is less than three miles away.
Linens are provided and a washer/dryer is available.
Cleaning fees have not been added to the prayer retreat room rates. To help keep these rooms affordable, each guest will have a check-out sheet that guides them in preparing the room for the next guest.
For group whole-house rentals, check-in is 4pm and check-out is 10am. During prayer weeks, individual prayer room check-in is 4pm and check-out is Noon.
Nope. Women only. But, groups of men are always welcome to reserve the home for prayer retreats.
So many! From hiking to horseback riding, extravagant shows to trout fishing, the Titanic Museum to golfing, Silver Dollar City to the Butterfly Palace, waterparks and walking trails... and just about anything else you can imagine.
Skagg's Medical Center (http://www.skaggs.net/) is just minutes from Rivendell with excellent urgent and emergency care.
As long as you'd like while there's availability.
Several options exist, not all of which are tax-deductible. Alicia spoke with several lawyers about whether Rest Inn Rivendell would qualify as a non-profit. It could... IF... it was open to all, focused on serving the community in Branson, and operated on a donations basis. So RiR does not qualify under the current non-profit definitions.
So the good news is that you have full permission to designate what you would want your gift to go toward (room sponsorship, scholarships for students or missionaries, the library or development of the prayer garden...). But if you need a tax-deductible receipt, we are legally unable to offer that at this time.
Another option - especially if you need a tax-receipt - is to sponsor someone for a Leadership Investment Intensive or prayer retreat through your church or organization! Many would love to come for these mentoring opportunities but do not have available funds.
Thank you for your prayers and gifts. This is an enormous faith venture for us and your partnership in intercession and finances is a specific answer to our prayers. We long to celebrate the day when the prayer home's mortgages are all paid off!
