General FAQ About Staying At Rivendell
How to I secure my reservation?
A 50% deposit by check, Mastercard, Visa, or a direct bank draft (via a secure link in the invoice) secures your reserved dates. Your balance is due 30 days before arrival.
What if I have to cancel?
Deposits minus a $100 cancellation fee are returned for cancellations 60 days out. Less than 60 days out, all payments will be retained unless Rest Inn Rivendell is able to resell all or some of the nights, in which case Rivendell will return resold night fees back to you.
I'd like to reserve Rivendell for my group. How many can I bring?
The home sleeps 20 comfortably, which is the maximum number Rivendell can have overnight in compliance with our vacation rental county permit.
Is Rivendell a good match for staff retreats? Reunions? Vacations?
Yes, yes, and yes! So far the only requests we have received that were not great matches for Rivendell were for a tween boys' baseball team (obvious) and weddings (Rivendell cannot host live or amplified outdoor music per county permit). Rivendell is ideal for groups of all sizes with space to rest, land to roam, and a view to inspire even the weariest of minds.
Is the dock useable? Can we swim in the lake?
Bring or rent a boat at Scotty's Boat Dock on Branson Landing and enjoy our dock! Lake Taneycomo is a cold (as in brrrrrr) water lake that's great for fishing but not designed for swimming or water sports. If you rent a boat, you'll see kids at camps swimming and my kids splash around in the shallows on hot days. But the lake at its greatest depth is only 50' and there are many trees and branches that make jumping in from the dock prohibited. So, can you swim? With care and without jumping in, yes. Will it be warm? Never. :-)
What are the guidelines for the use of the home?
Have fun and rest well! Without...amplified outside music, loud parties, smoking, or pets. :-)
Where's the nearest airport?
The nearest airport, Branson Airport (BKG), is 17 miles from Rivendell. The largest airport near Rivendell, Springfield-Branson International Airport (SGF), is 60 miles from Rivendell.
What time is check-in? Checkout?
It takes the cleaning team six hours to clean Rivendell. Therefore, check-in is 4pm and check-out is 10am.
What activities are nearby?
So many! From hiking to horseback riding, extravagant shows to trout fishing, the Titanic Museum to golfing, Silver Dollar City to the Butterfly Palace, waterparks and walking trails... and just about anything else you can imagine.
What is the nearest medical facility?
Cox Medical Center is 7 miles from Rivendell and has excellent urgent and emergency care.
What is the minimum and maximum number of nights that can be reserved?
With the exception of January and February (which have two-night minimums), three-nights is the shortest stay and there is no maximum stay.
